8pm this Friday 31st March we have Stephanie Bernard from The University of Melbourne speaking to us about “Looking for the First Galaxies in the Universe“!
There are many fundamental, unanswered questions about the young Universe, such as: how and when did the first galaxies form? How are they connected to galaxies like our Milky Way? I’ll talk about what we know about the first stars and galaxies to form in the Universe, our search for galaxies in the first 5-10% of the Universe’s history using the dual power of the Hubble and Spitzer space telescopes, and what we hope to see in the future with the new James Webb Space Telescope.
