Saturday 3rd November 2018 – Young Observers
A good crowd of Novae turned up for the first session of Young Observers on Saturday night where we looked at how high the sky was (the layers of our atmosphere) and then compared the atmospheres of the other planets in the solar system using smarties. Poor little Mercury; with next to no atmosphere it got eaten pretty quickly afterwards! The Supernovae group was also well attended and learnt about how gravitational waves are detected and got a look at Mars and Saturn in the twilight sky.
