Have you always wanted to visit an observatory and see the night sky at the same time? Well, look no further – we at Mount Burnett Observatory can make that wish a reality!

Our Private Bookings cater to all experience and interest levels – with a smaller group than our Night at the Observatory sessions, our volunteers can answer your questions in much more detail, and focus on what YOU want to see, not what works for a large group. They are also very popular for various events, such as celebrations of birthdays or anniversaries – we’ve even had a few marriage proposals in our time!

These nights are optimised for up to 10 adults and held on Mondays through to Thursdays at 8.00pm-10.00pm

(we recommend Public Viewing Nights at the Observatory for the young ones)

Booking Fee  (non refundable)   $25.00

Event Fees

Observatory Tour for 2 Guests  $225.00

Any Additional Guests at $30.00 each

(Max 10 Guest per Event) 

MBO Private Event Cancellation Policy

All bookings are made for a set date and time, however sometimes it may be necessary to reschedule to an alternate date.

Guest initiated postponement may occur without penalty once only, provided 7 days’ notice is received.

When less than 7 days’ notice is given, this is classed as a cancellation. The booking fee of $25, plus 10% of the event fee will be incurred and deducted from your refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made with less than 48 hours advance notice.

Refunds can only be returned to a bank account.

MBO initiated cancellations due to weather, safety or staffing issues may result in the rescheduling of your event at no addition cost to the guests.

There is no limit on the number of MBO initiated reschedules.

Should the client not wish to proceed with the amended booking, a full refund less the $25 booking fee will be provided on request.

Purchase of a private booking voucher will be taken as acceptance of the above cancellation conditions.
