Mount Burnett Observatory, in partnership with CAASTRO (the ARC Centre for Excellence for All Sky Astrophysics) and Scientists in Schools held our first Astrofest in 2013. Over two days 530 students from five local primary schools visited the telescope to be taught by some of Australia’s brightest young astronomical talent (courtesy of Melbourne and Swinburne Universities), whilst in school activities happened for students at Emerald Secondary College.
Mount Burnett would like to particularly acknowledge the support and sponsorship of CAASTRO without whom the event would not have been possible and the volunteers who ensured the event was fun for everybody.
