Public Night at the Observatory

September 2, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm AEST

- $10.00 – $20.00

Are you looking for an astronomy fix, or a special present for somebody? Look no further!

Observatory visits are evening sessions targeted at members of the public who would like to see an observatory in action and (weather permitting) look through the telescopes.

The fully guided session lasts two hours and includes tours of the domes and museum and an introduction to the night sky. If the sky is clear, the visit will include viewing through the observatory telescopes.

Sessions run if the sky is clear or cloudy. We only cancel the event if the weather is dangerous. Our team will entertain and inform you regardless of cloud cover.

The cost is $20 per adult and $10 per child over 5. Children under 5 are free but must be listed on an adult ticket.

Observatory visits are incredibly popular and the income from them supports vital maintenance so our cancellation policy is strict. However this is also the era of covid and we take the safety of visitors and volunteers seriously.

Tickets cancelled more than 72 hours prior to the event will be fully refunded.

Tickets cancelled less than 72 hours prior to the event will be refunded minus a $5 charge.

To cancel your tickets or with any further questions email or phone 03 7067 1571.
