Young Observers Event – At the Observatory

April 27 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

- Free

This time again, now time to get your young observers up to the observatory for great night to learn, ask questions and checkout the night sky.

The Constellation of the Month for April Young Observers is Vela the Sails and our theme is Space Telescopes.

One of the problems with Earth-bound telescopes is the Earth and its atmosphere. Our planet gets in the way of half the sky and our atmosphere is getting more polluted with gunk and light.

The solution: put telescopes in space, away from those problems.

We will look at Hubble and the James Webb Space Telescope to see how they work and also find out about other space telescopes with special purposes.

Plus, there will be an opportunity for kids to learn how to use the MBO Dobsonian mount telescopes (Dobs).

Make sure you book each person in to the system, but each person needs a ticket with their name on them thanks
