The October session for Young Observers is on Saturday 25th October, 7:30-9:30.
The theme is Rings
October’s Young Observers session takes a close look at the beloved ringed planet, Saturn. From the history and mythology of Saturn to the essential role of its shepherd moons, you’ll learn more about Saturn that you ever expected, and the other bodies with rings in the solar system. You’ll even make your own Saturn model to take home. And, if the weather behaves, we will get great views of the ringed gas giant through our telescopes.
A note regarding adult guests
Please make sure that all members and guests are booked in – you will need to do a booking for each person. Bookings should be made by 4pm on the day, so please do not leave it until the last minute.
Members are welcome to bring guests of Young Observer age (roughly 5 to 16). As this is a child-focused event, adult guests are not permitted except by prior arrangement with the YO coordinator (YO@mbo.org.au). This is to make sure we have room on site (we have limited space on site, and can’t always fit all our keen young astronomers in.)
