Young Observers Night at the Observatory
Young Observers Members
With the discovery of many new exoplanets in recent years comes the question of life on Planets other than Earth.
But how do we find these planets?
What makes these planets able to support life?
And if aliens do exist, what would they look like?
Could they even be in our Solar System?
This session will allow Young Observers to investigate all these questions and more.
Then once the sun sets, learn to observe the night sky.
We make use of our Monash dome and telescope collection to uncover the mysteries of the Universe!
In the event of cloud cover/obscured viewing, use cutting edge astronomical software to explore the sky digitally and traverse the cosmos.
This is a free evening event; however, for covid-safe reasons we are limiting numbers and members are required to book tickets via the RSVP link below
When booking, choose a role from the drop down box when booking tickets. Select the age group that works for each child.
“Responsible persons” tickets are to allow event coordinators to book in as well.
You will only be allowed onsite if you have a ticket
Please Note: Although you may sign up for this session as late as 4 pm on November 12th, it would be extremely helpful if we know who is attending much earlier, so we can prepare properly for the session. For this reason, please sign up by Wednesday 9th November if you can.
