It has long been known that the Universe is filled with objects that, due to their faint nature, are extremely hard to detect even with some of the worlds most advanced telescopes. Recent developments have lead to the creation of a new type of telescope specialised for detecting these objects leading to a resurgence in the field of low surface brightness imaging. Beginner Dobsonian Training

For new members, to get familiar with the Dobsonian telescopes we keep in dome, so you can get them out on a Friday night members night and use them yourselves. You will learn the names of all the parts, how to carry the telescope around safely, how to align the finderscopes and how to change eyepieces, as well as how to get them out and pack them away.

Working Bee
