Ever wanted to see an operational astronomical observatory? Do you have a telescope that you cannot work? Are you interested in learning more about astronomy? Come along to our annual Observatory Open Day from 11am to 3pm. We will have solar and radio telescopes in operation (weather permitting) and lots of fun and informative activities for the family. Solar Eclipse telecast from Irkutsk, Russia
On behalf of Irkutsk Regional Astronomical Organisation (IRAO) and Irkutsk Planetarium, we offer Mount Burnett Observatory and all Australian amateur astronomers the opportunity to look with Irkutsk eyes and telescopes at the Solar Eclipse. The eclipse lasts for 2 hours and 3 minutes in Irkutsk. It starts at 6:20 UT (4:20pm Melbourne time), maximum phase (0.33) at 7:22 UT (5:22pm Melbourne), and last contact at 8:23 UT (6:23pm Melbourne). Live Stream – A Night at the Observatory

The event runs for an hour with time for questions afterwards.
