Observatory Open Day

Solar Eclipse telecast from Irkutsk, Russia

On behalf of Irkutsk Regional Astronomical Organisation (IRAO) and Irkutsk Planetarium, we offer Mount Burnett Observatory and all Australian amateur astronomers the opportunity to look with Irkutsk eyes and telescopes at the Solar Eclipse. The eclipse lasts for 2 hours and 3 minutes in Irkutsk. It starts at 6:20 UT (4:20pm Melbourne time), maximum phase (0.33) at 7:22 UT (5:22pm Melbourne), and last contact at 8:23 UT (6:23pm Melbourne).
