Young Observers

Mount Burnett Observatory runs a children’s program called Young Observers!

Young Observers events run as one group, the age limit is flexible, but children will be expected to be able to concentrate and behave in a mature enough manner. Since the onset of COVID we have split activities into educational and observing based nights at the observatory and an online Code Club.

Both activities run on Saturdays with the latest dates in the website calendar. Onsite sessions will run from 7pm – 9:30pm during Daylight Saving months and from 6:30pm – 9pm Non- Daylight Saving months.

Onsite activities include learning about space and astronomy with accompanying educational activities and if weather permits there will be the opportunity to observe the night sky using Mount Burnett Observatory telescopes.
